To answer this question, the content analysis method and library reference to the collection of Imam Khomeini's Speeches (in “Sahifeh-ye Noor” as the official reference of his statements have been used. Therefore, after extracting the concepts related to the subject, the functions of the Islamic Consultative Assembly have been classified and defined in two pivots of regulation and supervision. By this, the importance of each of these functions is determined and the status of parliamentary oversight is Qualified in different ways. Finally, the results of the research show that, against to the common beliefs that see the legislating as the main function of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and also the function of this institution in different periods reflects a focus on this task, the founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran has emphasized on the parliamentary oversight of the affairs and see this status as the main function of the Islamic Consultative Assembly بررسی کارکردهای مجلس به‌عنوان یکی از ارکان نظام سیاسی جمهوری اسلامی ایران از مهمتری موضوعاتی است که در منظومه فکری امام خمینی، نقش و جایگاه ویژه ای دارد. این مقاله در صدد است به این پرسش پاسخ دهد که «در میان کارکردهای مختلف مجلس شورای اسلامی، کارکرد نظارتی آن چه جایگاهی دارد؟» برای پاسخ به این پرسش، از روش تحلیل محتوای مضمونی استفاده شده است که بر اساس چارچوب مفهومی نظارت و کارکردگرایی و با رجوع به منابع کتابخانه‌ای که در مجموعه صحیفه امام به‌عنوان مرجع رسمی بیانات ایشان گردآوری شده مورد تحقیق قرار گرفته است. از این رو پس از استخراج مفاهیم مرتبط با موضوع، کارکرد های مجلس شورای اسلامی از منظر ایشان دسته‌بندی و ذیل دو محور تقنین و نظارت تعریف شده است. با این کار اهمیت هر یک از این کارکرد ها مشخص و جایگاه نظارت مجلس در شئون مختلف احراز می‌شود. در نهایت ثمره پژوهش نشان می‌دهد برخلاف تصورات رایج که تقنین را کارکرد اصلی مجلس شورای اسلامی می‌داند و عملکرد این نهاد نیز در ادوار مختلف بیان‌گر تمرکز بر همین شأن است، بنیان‌گذار انقلاب اسلامی ایران تأکید ویژه‌ای بر نظارت مجلس بر امور کشور داشته و این شأن را کارکرد اصلی مجلس شورای اسلامی می‌داند https://bsrq.cuir.ac.ir/article_83800_e4dd000e94bb8c2bfd9793b7588b0c44.pdf
